Creating eBooks with iBooks Author
The proliferation of digital media and information and communication technology in our 21st-century society requires students to be literate in all media forms (print, video, and web)—and not just as consumers, but as producers. It is important that our students can interpret the wide array of messages that flood their lives and construct their own messages using the same media forms. Apple's free iBooks Author, like other ePublication software, empowers students to become creators of knowledge. In this workshop we will discover the many features and affordances of iBooks Author that can be used by both students and teachers to create and publish their own interactive books for iPads. We will go over how to embed videos, PowerPoint presentations, maps, photos, quizzes, forms, and activities among many other widgets.
